In an attempt to imbibe the essence of the surroundings into our design narrative, we arrived at a coastal, tropical aesthetic for this 1500 sqft, 3 bedroom villa. Elegant simplicity and clean lines are hallmarks of contemporary design and we found an exciting challenge in weaving it in a coastal fabric without it seeming too clichéd. Instead of bright colors, beachy motifs and nautical decor, we decided to go with a more fun, layered vibe, albeit letting the design mainly celebrate the seamless transition between the indoors and outdoors.

The tropical vibe of Goa, with its sandy beaches and lanes lined with trees, instantly led us to a Balinese style for this 2 bedroom villa. Balinese interior design incorporates the outdoors like no other. Warm, earthy colors, rich tropical foliage within spaces and the most beautiful blend of wood, stone and cane. The home had an abundance of natural light and came with an open floor layout. The overall narrative is woody with a basic, monochromatic color palette of whites, blacks and greys, the key statement elements being cane and live-edge wood. As Bali is a land rich in tropical foliage, the coherent fusion of greenery and plants into the design became imperative.

This 1500sqft, 3 bedroom villa follows a restrained, Scandinavian design style with an overall minimalistic compass. We went in for a pastel, subtle look and feel with a layered approach for the interiors, with the intent of letting natural light rule the aesthetic. The overall Scandi palette features cane, natural wood, a monochrome colour palette comprising mainly shades of white, ivory and beige. To add a touch of sass, we highlighted some spaces which geometric patterned tiles in black and white. The space feels light and airy, aided by the tone-on-tone color palette and has a very clean and non-fussy furniture layout.
